University System of Georgia has a policy allowing out-of-state tuition differential waivers and assess in-state tuition to any member of a uniformed military service of the United States who, within twelve (12) months of separation from such service, enroll in an academic program and demonstrate an intent to become domiciled in Georgia. This waiver may also be granted to their spouses and dependent children.

The National Guard Service Cancelable Loan Fund:
Provides full coverage of tuition, not to exceed $3,643.00 per school year, or $1,821.00 dollars per semester. Soldiers with a baccalaureate degree are not eligible for this program.
Eligibility: Must be a legal Georgia resident and be a member in good standing of the Georgia National Guard. Loan is repaid through continued membership and continued good standing in the Guard.

Tuition Assistance (Georgia Air National Guard):
Up to 100 percent tuition is paid, not to exceed $2,790.00 per school year, $1,395.00 per semester or $116.25 per semester hour. The rate per quarter hour will not exceed $77.40.
Eligibility: Georgia Air National Guard service member.

Georgia HERO Scholarship
The Georgia HERO (Helping Educate Reservists and their Offspring) Scholarship Program was created to provide educational grant assistance to members of the Georgia National Guard and U.S. Military Reservists who served in combat zones or the children of such members of the Georgia National Guard and U.S. Military Reserves. The grant is to attend an approved school for a maximum of up to four award years in the sum of $2,000.00 per award year. No person shall be eligible to receive grant assistance provided under this subsection in excess of $8,000.00.
