University of Iowa system policy states a veteran who is domiciled or moves to the state of Iowa and is eligible for or has exhausted benefits under the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008 is entitled to resident status for purposes of undergraduate tuition and mandatory fees. Policy includes spouses and dependents as long as the veteran’s arrival in Iowa is prior to the beginning of the term.

Iowa National Guard Tuition Aid Program:
Program provides $2,700 per semester for full-time students, which equals full-time tuition at Iowa’s public universities, and $196 per credit hour for part-time students. In addition, state schools will refund tuition to mobilized soldiers. Private school attendees get 50 percent tuition assistance, not to exceed the Regents University tuition rate.
Eligibility: Present Iowa National Guard members in good standing.
