Legislation
Gov. Nikki Haley signed Bill 391 allowing military veterans who have been honorably discharged to get in-state tuition at South Carolina state colleges and universities as soon as they become residents of the state. The bill also allows veterans to transfer the benefit to their dependents. Read the text of the bill here.

South Carolina Air National Guard
Tuition Assistance:

Up to $4,500.00 per year toward repayment of student loans while currently enrolled in college.
Eligibility: South Carolina Air National Guard service member.

South Carolina Student Loan
Repayment Program:

Grants $18,000.00 for 4 year awards and $9,000.00 for 2-year awards to recruit and retain soldiers in specific areas of critical need within the South Carolina Army National Guard. The benefit will pay $4,500.00 annually for 2 or 4 years towards the student’s eligible federal student loans.
Eligibility: South Carolina Army National Guard member.
